Did you see the movie 'Up'? Do you remember the tense conversation between the dogs and how it was broken up by a fluffy-tailed-rodent scampering by?

Today has been one of 'those days' where no matter how determined I am to stay focused, distraction is hitting me over and over and over again.

Does that happen to you? If you can relate, what do you do to help yourself get back into the rhythm of doing what actually NEEDS to be done instead of getting caught by what latest distraction is BEGGING to be done?

Stepping away from all of it, breathing deeply and slowly, allowing my mind to settle has helped. So has taking a pen and paper and writing out a list of all the things demanding my attention. From there I can actually begin to prioritize what needs to happen, instead of getting caught in the undertow of what is popping up first in my face.

Hopefully this brief encouragement blesses you on what looks to be a lovely fall day (for the Pacific Northwest). Welcome to October!!
